Impossible Lightness
A balloon that takes flight, yet holds within it the weight and fluidity of the ocean. In this work, wood ceases to be a rigid material and transforms into air and water: the carved silhouette is so precise and the reflections so vivid that they trick the eye, transporting us to a world where goldfish swim suspended in the room’s sky. It is a visual “nonsense” that shakes the senses and shatters certainties, offering a magnetic confusion that captures the gaze of both adults and children.
For when reality feels too tight and we feel the need to flip the rules: absolute freedom, the idea that opposites can coexist and that the boundary between above and below, between air and water, is merely an invention of our minds. A gaze beyond the obvious, letting ourselves be carried away by a beauty that needs no explanation, only to be contemplated with wonder.
